Stella McCartney Lights up Adidas in the Dark

Darkness may fall, but that doesn’t mean you have to fade into the background. For night riders ofthe female persuasion, designer/animal-rights activist Stella McCartney has your back, with a new cruelty-free (natchcollection for Adidas that includes a line of glow-in-the-dark performance gear.

Hermès "J’Aime Mon Carré"

French label Hermès is celebrating its iconic scarves by launching a fanzine, website and a series of events showing fans how to wear the brand's signature piece, getting down with the kids. Hermès  which usually prefers to keep its own counsel, is launching an exclusive collaboration with Colette this fall. What’s more, it’s jazzing up one of the most classic offerings in its repertoire: le carré, or silk scarf. Bali Barret, Hermès’ artistic director of silk—yes, they have one of those—designed a series of exclusive new designs for the scarves, in bold contrast colors and mash-up pattern prints. All the better to proclaim (as the collection’s title has it), “J’Aime Mon Carré.” They’ll be available from September 27 to October 16 at the Paris boutique, but if you can’t wait, www.jaimemoncarre.com launches later this summer.

1,000 Newspaper Dress

Designer Yuliya Kyrpo wrapped every one of the old Metro newspapers into cranes, by herself, and positioned them to create this amazing piece of art. What’s even more interesting is the way she managed to arrange the different texts and images to make her dress actually nice to look at.

The newspaper dress of Yulia Kyrpo is now on display at the London Museum of Art.

SAVE THE MALES!

The men celebrate with some good-looking grabs for it not clothed models on the covers.

Pitti and Milan summer shows were enough for Geil chief editor Daniele Mancinetti and his fashion director Benjamin Armand to claim "Save the Male!" Like endangered species such as sea turtles or blue whales, real males on catwalks seem to have disappeared, replaced by skinny "womanized" teenagers carrying handbags and wearing hot pants.

Vogue Editors Join The Cast Of Gossip Girl!!!

It’s never a surprise when designers useGossip Girl as inspiration. After all,Serena and Blaire have become fashion icons in their own right. But sometimes we’re left wondering when the higher end designers get involved Matthew Williamson. It’s one thing to offer up clothing to the cast, and quite another to be written into the script.

Gossip Girl
will have two episodes next season focused around Anna Wintour’s Fashion’s Night Out event, and for good reason. Last year’s evening consisted of the fashion elite of New York traipsing around Manhattan’s boutiques at all hours of the night shopping, dancing, and drinking — three things the cast of Gossip Girl does frequently.
But Vogue is becoming a little more involved with theGossip Girl madness than you may think. Hamish Bowles and Lauren Santo Domingo — two prominent Vogue editors — will be making cameo appearances in the episodes.
Do we applaud Vogue for embracing the show’s success? For getting off of their pedestal and having a little fun? Or do we go with our gut and sit back and think, sad is the day that Vogue needs to make appearances on a teen soap opera?
